2010 Emmy Fashion

I know this blog is about the quality of the television shows and movies produced, but at the same time a part of me feels compelled to see how these stars are dressing.  Many of them looked fabulous, but I always wonder what some of them were thinking.  How can you make millions of dollars a year and then show up looking like you just rolled out of bed and put on a trash bag?  Anyways, here are some of the highlights.

Personally, I feel like it's hard for a guy to go wrong at these awards shows.  Most black tuxes look fabulous, with a traditional bow tie or with the new tux tie.  I thought that Jimmy Fallon and Joel McHale wore their tuxes quite well.  However, some things went a little awry.  Ty Burrell looked odd in his grey suit with the satin collar, and Matthew Morrison looked like a little boy who had outgrown his tux.  It just didn't fit right, and it wasn't very flattering.

Many of the women looked fabulous in their gowns.  By far, the best was Claire Danes in her glittery Armani gown.  Jane Lynch looked extraordinary in her purple taffeta gown.  Glenn Close wore a lovely green strapless gown, while Eva Longoria Parker best wore black that night.  Amy Poehler and Julie Bowen both looked fabulous in their gowns, especially considering they just had babies.  Lea Michele's Oscar de la Renta navy gown was gorgeous, but she went a little overboard with the necklace.

The worst dressed, hands down, was January Jones. Her Versace gown was a hot mess, as was her hair style, or bed head. The actress herself described her dress as a peacock, but she forgot to mention the Madonna boob cones that were attached to the front.
